Societies & cLUB

SAHITYIKA CLUB

The aim of the club is to develop creative writing in Hindi and English. Original writing are selected and read out by the authors themselves before an audience in the Sahityika Assembly.

SCIENCE CLUB

Its object is to popularize and create interest in scientific learning. It also organizes the Science Week every year with seminar, quizzes and essay  writing contests etc.

GEOGRAPHY AND ENVIRONMENTAL CLUB

Its objective is to spread awareness among the students about climate change, Rising Sea level, Nuclear waste,  Pollution, Deforestation, Land & Soil degradation, Extinction of animal species etc.  Its motto is  to think globally and work locally.

SOCIAL SERVICE LEAGUE

The  Social Service League helps all the poor and the needy ones around the area. The  Social Service League has also adopted some neighbouring Schools and caters to all the requirements of the needy ones 

CONTEMPLATION GROUND (GODHULI)

On festivals the students assemble at the Godhuli Stadium in the evening.  A brief talk by students and faculty members on various topics are a regular feature of the assembly. It is also the time for meditation. The students are trained to sit  in silence for a few minutes and practice meditation.

BAND CLUB

The School Band has two wings for Sr. and Jr. section. A well qualified Band Master  trains  the students in band . The school band caters of the needs of all school functions and other national festivals. 

 

MOUNTAINEERING  AND ROCK CLIMBING CLUB

Each year a number of students from the school are selected for both these courses. They go to Uttarkashi or Darjeeling for Mountaineering Course and for Rock Climbing Course.

KALAM CLUB

Kalam Club is very actively functioning in our school. The children are planting different types of trees  & going to villages to educate the villagers especially the girls.   

USO CLUB

The School is also a member of a United Nations School Organisation. Students are encouraged to participate in various programmes of USO so that they develop a sense of patriotism and universal brotherhood .

ROUND SQUARE CONFERENCE

 The school is a member of the Round Square Conference. We hosted the Sr. Round Square Conference in our School in which Eleven Leading Schools from different parts of the world took part during  X-Mas time.

SCHOOL COUNCIL

School is founded on the fundamental principles of democracy by including the students in all important decision making body. Students are included in Mess Committee, Games Committee, Menu Committee, Film Committee etc. along with teachers who guide them to take proper decisions.

SCHOOL MAGAZINE AND NEWS LETTER SOCIETIES

The annual school magazine is published in march every year. News letter of the school is published quarterly. Both reflect the different school activities and achievements of the students and staff.

HORSE RIDING CLUB

The school maintains a stable with 16 horses and has a well qualified riding instructor and syces. Riding is compulsory for all students from classes VI to XII. Every student is required to pass the riding test at the end of the session. A number of students achieve very high proficiency in term like vaulting, jumping, hurdles and tent-pegging.

EXHIBITIONS

The school organizes three main exhibitions every year. The Science Club organizes the Science Exhibitions where Working models/ charts made by students are displayed. The six Houses in the Senior Section put up a Project Exhibition every year. Students work on a theme and put it up for exhibition display.  There is also an Art and Craft Exhibition in which various types of Wood, Metal and Clay besides paintings and sculptured articles are exhibited.

FESTIVALS

The school campus has 'Lord Hanumaan's Temple' . The childern are encouraged

 to worship and say their prayers. We also conduct 'Bhajans & Hawan'  periodically.

The school also celebrates religious festivals like Holi, Dussehra,Diwali,Guru Nanak's

birthday etc. and National festivals like Independence Day and Republic Day.

TOURS, TREKS AND VISITS

All students from Classes I to XII go on educational tours to difference parts of the country for the period of seven days. The senior students are divided into groups and  go  for trekking. Some of the high peaks scaled by the students include Meru Glacier (18,000 ft.) Panch Chuli Glacier (16,000 ft.) and Harmukh and Harbhagwan peaks in Jammu and Kashmir.

The school encourages visits to educational, historical and of cultural  interests as part of their education every year.

N.C.C.

The school has all the NCC wings Army, Naval and Air. Students from  classes VII to IX can join any one of the wings. Annual camps are a  Compulsory part of the NCC training. The NCC cadets join local rallies on  Independence  Day and Republic Day. Cadets are also chosen for Advance  Leadership Training Camps and Rock-Climbing Camps. Attending the NCC camps is compulsory for all cadets.
